Some of Robert Milano’s most memorable culinary discoveries occurred off the beaten path during his epicurean adventures. As a result, when Robert decided to open Eclectic he was attracted to a remote location outlying New Canaan’s business district. He purchased the 1,600 square foot standalone building at 31 Vitti Street and completely transformed it into the unique eatery here today. After Robert decided on Vitti Street he created a space not only attractive but practical as a casual eatery. The building, which captures morning light naturally, is completely redesigned, the interior renovated and the entire exterior rebuilt, which gives it a novel look.
But, Robert also attributes his decision to open a business in New Canaan to the community. He experienced heartening support and explains, “after meeting the neighboring business owners I knew Vitti Street would be the ideal location for Eclectic.” At first, it was the unusual location that attracted Robert, but it became the community who drew Eclectic to New Canaan.
